I like to think I handle disrespect pretty well. I’ve been told I’m not funny before, I’ve been told that my cartoons are badly drawn, and it doesn’t bother me. I’m not in high school; I’ve been published and working for over thirty years, and I know full well what I’m capable of and what I’ve accomplished thus far.
If I’m disrespected as a man by another man, the solution is very simple.
Last night it happened, again. I willingly sat through a film that evoked such animosity, such blinding and violent hatred in myself, I couldn’t sleep afterward. I lay awake, practically steaming, trying to work out how I could find and slaughter every member of the cast and crew.
Before I begin, I want you to understand that I have no reason to lie to you. I don’t care about alienating the companies I’ll be attacking in the following article because they have nothing to offer me.
The comic book industry I dreamed about being part of since I was a boy is dead. It’s never coming back. It will never recover.
I need to do my job as a website manager and give you something you need, that you didn’t know you did. Don’t get spoiled, this won’t happen very often. But if I’m hurting, which I am now more than ever, it means that the rest of the world is hurting even more.
