Belabor Day

For the first time in eight years, a new collection of Bands I Useta Like strips is available!

Here’s why you’ll want one of your own:

  1. It’s loaded with 120 strips, the most ever collected in one book
  2. There’s a foreword by frequent collaborator J.P. Kittens
  3. It makes a great gift
  4. You are supporting me and my work

The production of this book was made possible almost entirely through reader donations. Over the past year, your donations have helped me through a very difficult time. “Suicide Street” doesn’t allude to me possibly killing myself; it’s a major avenue in Atlanta, which I’ve lived on since last fall. It has three lanes, the center of which is reversible, indicated by a hanging light. If a driver is in the center lane when the light shows a red “X”, you’re moments away from witnessing a head-on collision. Between this and the bicycle riders who rocket down the sidewalk at breakneck speed, simply walking down the avenue to get groceries is like six cups of coffee.

If you’d like to convince me beyond the shadow of a doubt that you’re the coolest person in the world, you can drop a donation in my GoFundMe, which has almost single-handedly saved my ass over the summer:

Not coincidentally, after publishing a retrospective of the last 20 years of my creative life, I have accepted the realization that I need donations to keep the whole crap game afloat. No one in 2018 is able to publish consistent content without outside sponsorship. Since I don’t place ads on my websites, this is how I have to do things. If you decide to donate or become a patron, know that you are supporting an independent creator and artist, who sincerely appreciates your support. If I fall behind on saying thank you, know that it’s because I’m busy working to bring you the best material for your buck. This is my full-time job. I don’t stop.

Thanks to the people who believed in me and my work, I don’t have to stop.

If you like what you see on this site, and you’d like to support independent comics, kindly share this with your friends. Thanks to you, I’m still at it after 20 years, with no loss of steam.

The best is yet to come.
