10 Steps To A Finished Page

Okay, I know I said in some old article that I could never teach you how to do what I do. Well, I was in a bad mood when I wrote that. I can totally teach you.

You think you can make good comics? I can show you how in 10 Steps.

It doesn’t matter what kind of comics you want to create. I can show you how to take a page from out of your brain to a page you can frame, publish or sell in 10 Steps. All I did was write down the things I do that work, and before I knew it, I had a book.

If you are or know someone who enjoys drawing comics, with a general knowledge of the medium (plus the necessary supplies), I can show you how to increase your output while honing your existing skills along the way. I have 30 years of experience to impart. If I don’t teach this method to anyone, it dies when I do, and it’s too valuable for me to give it away free.

Also, from the people who told you water is wet, I need money.

If you want to draw and publish your own comics, which I actively encourage, I can show you how to do it, and do it well. You are welcome to argue with the results shown in the margins of this site. If you have even a basic set of cartooning skills, I can show you how to take those skills to the fabled next level.

I can show you how to put your money where your mouth is, as far as comic books are concerned. This is a method that will almost guarantee you will produce a book a year, or more. 10 Steps To A Finished Page.

As a dry run in the run-up to the release of 10 Steps, I have made eBooks available for purchase of both Lost Book and Suicide Street on Gumroad. All this stuff is extra secure when you order, if you worry about that kind of thing. Bad Shape is just about to drop as well, it just keeps taking more time. You have to understand, there’s Halloween content in Bad Shape, so the frigging baby gotta berth real soon. Between that and needing money I’ve been a real barrel of laughs lately.

What can I say, non? Bad Shape (Next Issue) is really good. It’s possibly the most animal comics I’ve ever done. Plus there’s features to make it feel like a magazine you’d hide from your parents when you were thirteen. It will be available both as a physical copy and an eBook, because I can no longer make fruity distinctions over format integrity (plus I have to pay to print the thing, obviously). Please buy it, and make me rich so I can buy a house.

I will update this page with the pre-orders as soon as I set them up. Bad Shape will be available ASAP, and 10 Steps will be available early November. It’ll make a shweet Christmas gift for anyone who wants to make great comics, and great comic books.

I can show you how, in 10 Steps. Using this method I’ve drawn hundreds of pages. Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball Z), at his peak, did 15 pages a week. I don’t care if that rhymes cornily, it’s true. That’s the kind of artist you have to complete with. I can show you how to do it.

Stay tuned, more to come.

Don’t lose your head.
